ACEP DIRECTORS ACADEMY

The PEMA Group and the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) agree that emergency physicians will require a greater understanding of systems, organization and management in addition to the desire to provide excellent patient care. Therefore, PEMA requires all of its Facility Directors to complete Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the ACEP ED Directors Academy.

Phase 1 is a 4 ½ day didactic course featuring expert faculty and such topics as Negotiating Skills, Peer Review, Containing Cost, Driving Hospital Quality, Scheduling Methodologies, Conflict Management, Reimbursement Issues, and Risk Management among many others.

Phase 2 is an interactive and independent study containing archived audiocasts and webcasts with online support materials, post-tests, and CME online abstracts. Topics include Patient Flow, Service Operations, Communications, Customer Satisfaction, Optimizing Revenue, ED Safety, Marketing, and many more.
