The PEMA Leadership Academy

 

The PEMA Leadership Academy offers a formal method of physician leadership development in the Emergency Medicine and Hospitalist practice environments. It cultivates future leaders in the organization by engaging participants in financial, operational, quality, strategic management, and community relations projects over the course of 12 months.

Target Audience:

This academy is designed specifically for PEMA physicians who aspire to leadership duties within the next 1 to 3 years. Most participants have at least 2 years of PEMA clinical experience and are on the shareholder track.

Program Format:

The PEMA Leadership Academy is based on four core competencies:

  • Community Relations
  • Clinical Operations & Quality Improvement
  • Administrative Operations & Strategic Management
  • Financial Management

Goals:

Physicians successfully completing this program are able to:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in the management and leadership of a large physician group
  • Understand and articulate their personal management and leadership style
Serve as an effective organizational representative to colleagues and external constituencies
