Vindell Washington, MD serves as the CEO for Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates. In that role Dr. Washington's primary responsibility is to assure that the policies, actions and decisions are consistent with stated mission. These responsibilities include maintaining long term vision and determining ideal structure and governance to attain PEMA's yearly and long term goals, and recommending any changes to shareholders.
Dr. Washington received a Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania State University and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Virginia. He earned a Master of Science in Healthcare Management at the Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Washington served as Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center. He is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Brian Moore, MD, FAAEM
Chief Medical Officer
Brian Moore, MD serves as the CMO for Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates. In that role Dr. Moore's primary responsibility is to direct group projects with the goal of improving individual clinical skills, group work environment, and relations with hospital medical staff and administration.
Dr. Moore received a Bachelor of Arts from Bucknell University and Doctorate of Medicine from Georgetown University School of Medicine. Dr. Moore completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Orlando Regional Healthcare System and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. While serving in the Air Force, Dr. Moore was the recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal. Dr. Moore maintains a clinical schedule in Emergency Medicine in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Michael Frye, MD, FACEP

Michael Frye, MD serves as the Secretary / Treasurer for Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates. In that role Dr. Frye's primary responsibility is to supervise preparation of annual budget, including analysis of previous expenses and forecasting of same; income forecasting with emphasis on changing payor trends, as well as, other financial matters as assigned by the Board.
Dr. Frye received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and Chemistry, Cum laude, from the Indiana University and Doctorate of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. He served as Chief Resident at Michigan State University during his residency. Edward McCutcheon, MD FACEP
Ed McCutcheon, MD serves as the Recruiter/Mid-Level Provider Liaison for Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates. In that role, Dr. McCutcheon's primary responsibility is to recruit excellent medical providers to staff all PEMA managed facilities. He also serves as the liaison between the physicians and Mid-Level Providers
Dr. McCutcheon received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and Doctorate of Medicine from West Virginia University School of Engineering and School of Medicine, respectively. Dr. McCutcheon completed his Emergency Medicine residency at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine. Dr. McCutcheon serves as a Physician's Assistant preceptor to regional University programs and maintains a clinical schedule in Emergency Medicine in the Charlotte, NC area. Jennifer E. Gehring, MD
Jennifer Gehring, MD is the Physician Scheduler for Piedmont Emergency Medicine Associates. In that role, Dr. Gehring ‘s primary focus is on maintaining appropriate staffing levels at all PEMA – staffed facilities. In addition to scheduling emergency physicians Dr. Gehring also assists facility directors, the physician recruiter, and the leadership team on various staffing-related recommendations and projects.
Jennifer Gehring, MD received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Indiana University and Doctorate of Medicine from Indiana University School of Medicine. She completed her Emergency Medicine residency at Carolinas Medical Center. LEAD MID-LEVEL PROVIDER
Elizabeth McInnis, APRN-BC
Elizabeth McInnis is the Lead Mid Level Provider (MLP). In this role, Elizabeth serves as the MLP liaison between the mid level providers and the physicians, assists with new recruits, creates the MLP schedule, and also maintains a fulltime clinical schedule.
Elizabeth McInnis, MSN, ARNP, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Salem State College, in Salem, MA, a Master of Science in Acute Care Nurse Practitioner from Wichita State University, in Wichita, KS and a Post - Master’s Certificate in Family Practice Nurse Practitioner from Wichita State University.
